Nick and Anna

This is Nick and Anna, they loved playing at the beach in the fog! There was such a mist in the air, it felt like rain. Everything we owned was wet. I thought Anna was clever by pulling out her Raincoat. Can you believe after all that, the sun came out, I was able to snap a few photos of Nick and we got to see the most wonderful sunset!

New Photos

My favorite place to go when I get the winter blues is the beach! Let's face it, it has been a mild winter but one can still get the winter blues! Today I loaded up the kids and we headed down to the beach for a little fun! It was a cloudy day but we did not care, once our toes hit the sand, all of our cares melted away.

My New Lens

My love of photography has turned into something that is now driving me crazy, I am not sure if its me being a perfectionist or me just being Ann! I have been to the local camera store and online shopping for a new lens for about a month now. My thinking was if I upgraded my lens, then I would become the photographer I wanted to be!!
I am taking more photos for people and they seem happy with them, but I am not! I am not getting the look I want, why not?? I was convinced a new lens would change this, I have the factory lens, and all the photographers have these great big lenses on their cameras. So I take my photos to the camera store, I tell them what I want to achieve and that I would like to upgrade my lens so I can be this awesome photographer. " See here all these great photos, I want to do this!! " Only to find out, yes, a new lens will help some, but mainly its all about the camera settings, the lighting and the person taking the photos , etc, etc. The advice given to me, was to stop looking at other peoples work and wondering why I am not achieving the look, and explore on my own camera, and not to be afraid to use the Manual Mode, aww yes the dreaded Manual Mode!! I am in Aperture and Shutter Priority now, but all the way Manual, yikes!!
I am frightened, scared, what if while I am messing with the camera, I miss the shot!! I did purchase a Portrait lens and a book on lighting. Stay tuned to see my adventures in the Manual Mode!

Shoreline

I am a true Carolina Girl, oh how I miss my BBQ and the leaves changing in the fall!! But there is nothing like the Northwest Florida Shoreline, oh how I love to admire its beauty!!

Seville Square

This is the second time I photographed this family! I think they are so cute. I wanted to have my new camera lens for these photos, but I used my regular 18-55 lens. I have so much to learn, but she was so happy with them. Great day, we all spent so much time in each photo getting Kate to look up at us, all she wanted to do was look at leaves on the porch and ground!! So sweet they are though!!

S and her Family

This is the first family I photographed that the child was over 5, it was a wonderful afternoon, no running and rolling in the sand to capture the photo, and it still not be the one!! LOL. They came with their own ideas and we had a blast!!

Some of my Favorites to photograph

I love to photograph the people, but they move so much, its sometimes hard to capture a moment! So I have been practicing on a few things I see around that catches my eye!!
